Seri is a VERY talented lady, who doesn’t miss the little details. She is  a Wedding Wires Brides choice award winner. She also has the Retail Bakers of America award. Serious Cake has been a multiple time winner at the Oregon State Fair and has also been featured on AM Northwest!

Professional and personal Seri makes the cakes women dream of, for their wedding day. She makes YOUR vision a reality and delectable ones at that! While we were at Ken and Kim’s Willamette Valley Vineyard’s wedding amongst all the party people, this couple just made me stare. I was gawking, smiling and in total adoration. Embarrassing if you get busted, right!?   I admit it, I am a total people watcher and I have to remind our daughter all the time- “Hey Looky-Lou it’s not nice to stare.” Sometimes we should listen to our own advice.

But this couple had that “THING”…  Ya know, that “THING” that makes people stay in love.  She was stunning and he looked at her, like she was the only one in the room. She definitely is the only woman for him, I’m sure of that. It was like they were on their first date and she smiled at him, with a tenderness that knows all secrets. It was awesome. I watched them dance all night. They lasted longer than anyone else on the dance floor. When they stopped to sit for a minute,  I actually went up to them and asked them how long they had been married.  I can’t seem to recall the exact number now, but I want to say it was like 15-20 years. I love that they keep it ALIVE and that they haven’t forgotten after all this time, what it’s really about.  I don’t think I will ever forget that. Because they were ravishing and their fire was definitely burning.  That floor for sure has some remnant marks, of the fire from under their heels that night…

Seriously, could a bride be any more fun and beautiful!? Kimberly is just one of those women, that make you feel instantly comfortable.  Her smile lights up a room and her laugh, makes you laugh, right along with her and you feel like you’ve been friends forever. Her dress was a classic beauty and her hair was stunning.  I couldn’t get enough of her hair accessory.  It added that extra sense of drama and brought the entire “look” together.

The guys were keeping it cool at the hotel.  Getting all dressed up and smelling good…still being guys.  Taking a nap, taking the dogs for a walk and trying to prep for the awesome party ahead. Ties were tightened, hair in place, cuff links put on, kerchiefs in place and they were ready to strut their stuff.  Ken was calm, cool and collected. Still doing last minute preparation, making sure everything was in order.  Looking like the GQ stud he is, yellow socks and all! (Sshhh….don’t let Kimberly know about the socks…yet!)   Last minute errands and off to the vineyard,  these handsome men went.

Shades of purple (the hot color this fall ;P) made it all feel rich, elegant and  sophisticated in a relaxed atmosphere.  From the crystals that hung, just so, from the centerpieces. The cake that rebelliously mixed circles with squares! The delectable CANDY BAR…yes, we saw it with our own two eyes!  Grape Gummy Bears, Grape licorice, hershey’s kisses and the list goes on… AWESOME!

The DJ Frank Bratcher of  Bust a Move DJ service, rocked the house! Ken + Kimberly’s guests had an awesome time.  From the fabulous dinner, the spirits and wonderful wines that Willamette Valley Vineyards produces and the entertainment.  There was no way, anyone would walk away from this wedding and not have had, a million things to say about it. Everyone smiled, danced, laughed, fell in love again, POSED and we saw a whole new side to our “GROOM”.  That man can definitely, shake his groove thang!  He really impressed his “wife” and she came back and gave him a taste of his own medicine!  They will not be bored anytime soon…

May your journey in life together, always be a party Ken + Kimberly.  Always remember your wedding day for the amazing celebration it was.  You are surrounded by wonderful, supportive friends and family.  You are both so lucky to have each other to go home to, at the end of your day.  Supportive and loving, even if she is the dominator of the remote control Ken, at least you can always… rock your “lucky yellow socks”!  Thanks for letting us share in your celebration, it truly was our pleasure.

It’s warm outside as we stroll the vineyards to capture some photo’s of  Brian + Alice.  They are both relaxed and when they look at each other, you can tell that their is no other place in the world they would rather be.  They are completely engulfed in the moment, their moment.  The calm and real smile that Brian sends her way. The way that Alice looks at him as if time is standing still.  It’s in these moments we live to the fullest, love is a wonderful companion and that is what they have in each other.

Everywhere you look, family and friends are smiling.  They are enjoying the supple wines that are being served and everyone has a glass.  The kids are being kids, running and chasing, giggling and loving the heat of an August summer day. The Kramer family dog is moseying along, in and out, just waiting for his pat on the head.  Everyone is in one place, celebrating one love and a newly joined commitment to life together.  Congratulations Brian + Alice…  May you have a life time of happiness, fun, love and always be surrounded by those that you hold close in heart.

The bride and groom had just given their kids badges of courage. You can see the brides daughter clutching it tightly in her hand while the groom is telling her how proud of her he is and how honored he is to be a part of her family. She wept and stared into his eyes looking at him in a way that melted my heart.

This family had already been through a lot before it even got started. The bride had been battling cancer and it had been a tough road. The kids had stayed strong though it all,  and on this day they were honoring their courage as they came together as one family. I can’t even imagine how hard it was watching their Mom fight for her life. The ups, the downs, the sick days, the stress of not knowing. Going through something like that would really test a person and those that are close to them as well.

For anyone that has been through something like this – I think you deserve a badge of courage too.

The girls are curling hair, applying makeup and drinking chilled champagne.  Liz looks… stunning as she is trying to keep it all together, as questions are being asked and cell phones are ringing.  It can be crazy, being a bride! Liz pulled it off impeccably well.  The guys…well they will be guys! Helping each other with suspenders, ties, and occasional sips from a flask…WHAT!?   Jon is being his amazing self, making last minute arrangements and trying to calm his nerves, as everyone is looking for the backpack!? (I know I saw it on the lawn) and doing it in style, with his amazing fedora. What a handsome man!

The reception was so earthy and natural.  The chosen wedding colors blues, greens, brown made for one of the most beautiful bouquets.  The wooden floors saw A LOT of dancing and within the four walls, a million memories were made.  From the initials that hung so beautifully on the front doors, to the basket of flip flops on the dance floor, the handmade beer (yes, Jon and Liz made beer for their guests!)  It was an unforgettable wedding.

Thank you for letting us share, such an incredible part of your lives.  You are such a fun loving couple. You know how to have a good time and just let loose.  We wish you the best in your life together, and know for a fact you’ll have fun celebrating YOUR journey.

Kim is an old soul. In her young age, she has traveled much.  She is the kind of person you want to be around and really makes you feel good about yourself and life.  Truly beautiful inside & out.  Being an artist she has a flair for the dramatic. Realizes that the artist does need room to create and is open to new things always! She is WONDERFUL.

Walking through the doors of the “GIRLS ONLY” room at The Ainsworth House I could feel the excitement in the air.  It is Kim’s wedding day! The bridesmaids were busy accessorizing, finishing last minute makeup touch up’s.  Kim is there in her “BRIDE” tank top, with her bare AMAZING green eyes, awaiting my arrival to begin her makeup.  It was all kinds of fun because she wasn’t looking for “traditional” bridal makeup.  So we decided to go with something to keep along the lines of her added embellishments…peacock feathers! I know right!? AWESOME!

Perfectly shaped green eyes, accented by green, gold, a hint of blue and a black liner.  She was stunning!  Her bridesmaids and everyone that came in said “Wow! You look GLAMOROUS!” That she did my friends, she was indeed G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S!  But it only accentuates what is inside her heart.  It makes me feel good inside knowing that I was able to share a  part of  HER day.  Even though it was just a small part of the event, it’s a BIG part that follows me.

It’s funny how in life, it really is the small things that keep our hearts joined together. The texture of the “protein bar” was not cutting it. Somehow Shane the GROOM had ESP or sympathy pains and sent someone in to see if the BRIDE would like a protein shake! What!? He knew she was hungry and he was thinking of her.  I found that VERY touching.

Thank you Kim for letting me share in your wedding day.  It is such a pleasure to know you.  I wish you and your new hubby much happiness in your newly joined lives together.  I can’t wait for my next haircut!

You know that couple you meet and you just know that they are supposed to be together?  Well, meet Mac and Jessica!  They are THAT couple.  Always laughing, touching, sharing, and looking for the best things in life.  Their wedding day was just an all around great day.  Their colors were Champagne and Black, they had rich cream/champagne colored  flowers with accents of golds, greens, and very light, wine colored  tones.   The Cake was designed by the bride herself and her sketch, was brought to life by Seri Lopez of Serious Cake.  They had mouthwatering foods by Catering by Laurie.  Plenty of food and spirits to go around and the guests were enjoying themselves plenty.

There was an abundance of dancing, chatting, laughing and A LOT of memory making between family and friends.  It was a night that will be marked on Mac & Jessica’s calendar for a lifetime and a night we will NOT forget.  Thank you for having us with you on your wedding day.  It was a pleasure doing your makeup, you were a truly stunning bride.  Did you like Mac’s lipstick?
